The Garden Route District in conjunction with the Central Karoo and the SAPS Academy in Oudtshoorn hosted a medal parade in recognition of members for loyal service on Wednesday, 04 October 2023 in Oudtshoorn.

In attendance were the District Commissioner, Major General Norman Modishana, senior police management of neighbouring districts and the Executive Mayor of Garden Route, Alderman Memory Booysen. A total of 109 medal recipients were on parade. They received their decorations for 10, 20 and 30 years of loyal service.

Major General Modishana congratulated the members on their exceptional achievements and reminded everyone of the important role police play in society. He also reflected on successes achieved by members deployed across the region over the past year.

The Western Cape SAPS Band and the Garden Route Drill platoon also performed at the parade.
