Garango: Agricultural Volunteers Urged to Enhance Efforts in Production

Garango: The representative of the Presidency of Faso for the Nakamb© region, Adaman Kambon©, carried out a field tour in the commune of Garango this Friday, accompanied by focal points and members of the citizen watch, in order to encourage the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) engaged in agricultural activities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this field trip is part of a process of close monitoring and support for agricultural volunteers, particularly those in the second cohort. It aims to assess progress made on the ground, stimulate local initiatives, and strengthen mobilization around agricultural production, within a context of security and food challenges.

Throughout the various stages of the visit, the mission officer commended the commitment and resilience of the agricultural volunteers who are actively contributing to achieving food self-sufficiency. He urged them to build upon the knowledge gained from the training they received, particularly in improved farming techniques and farm management.

'Agricultural VDPs are an essential link in the national strategy for reclaiming the territory and reviving agricultural production. The efforts made in terms of training and support must translate into concrete results on the ground,' he said.

Discussions with beneficiaries also provided an opportunity to gather their concerns, particularly regarding access to inputs, water, and agricultural equipment. In response, the project manager reassured stakeholders of the authorities' commitment to continuing and strengthening support measures.
