Garango 1 CEB Celebrates Successful Conclusion of Sports and Cultural Activities

Garango: The Basic Education District of Garango 1 celebrated the conclusion of its 2026 sports and cultural activities with enthusiasm and strong community support. The event, held on May 2 in Garango, was marked by the presence of both administrative and customary authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the activities, under the theme "Sport and culture, factors of resilience in the face of security challenges," began on December 17, 2025, in Pakala and culminated on the veterans' grounds in Garango. A total of 32 schools participated, with students showcasing their talents in various sports such as athletics, handball, and football, and engaging in cultural activities including traditional and modern dances, recitals, and drawing.

The sports competitions highlighted exciting matches, with the Dissiam team defeating Baragasgho A in the handball final by 4 goals to 1, and Bangoula winning the football tournament against Pakala A with a commanding 4-0 scoreline. The event's patron, Boussang Naaba Karfo of Dagnoen, expressed his admiration for the children's abilities and the successful organization of the event, pledging ongoing support for similar initiatives.

Yedipaga Ouali, Head of the Garango 1 CEB, conveyed his satisfaction with how the activities unfolded, praising the dedication of everyone involved and the support received, which ensured the event's success. The significant turnout contributed to an uplifting atmosphere, furthering the event's goals of fostering social cohesion.

The closing of this edition saw widespread commendation from organizers, participants, and partners, recognizing the OSCEP's role in promoting civic values and unity within schools.
