Gaoua ‘B’ School Triumphs at Little Stars Festival in Gaoua

Gaoua: The Gaoua 'B' school secured its third consecutive victory at the third edition of the Festival of Little Stars of Gaoua (FESTIPEG), held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the multipurpose room of the City of Bafudji. The festival showcased the artistic talents of students from various schools in the commune, celebrating cultural expression through performance arts.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event's promoter and founder of Bafuijiinfos.com, the festival reached its climax with enthusiastic participation from children, teachers, and parents. Competing schools included the Notre Dame de l'Annonciation school complex, Gaoua 'D', and Gaoua 'B'. Gaoua 'B' excelled in traditional and modern dance, earning them the top prize of 170,000 CFA francs and a trophy.

The second-place Gaoua 'D' school received 145,000 CFA francs, including a special 50,000 CFA franc prize from the governor of the South-West, Boureima Savadogo, for being the best theatrical troupe. The Notre Dame de l'Annonciation school complex finished third, taking home 120,000 CFA francs, while the Gaoua 'A' school claimed fourth place with 65,000 CFA francs. Additional rewards included school supplies like backpacks, notebooks, and writing materials.

Governor Boureima Savadogo praised the festival's success and its role in promoting cultural awareness and expression among children, especially under the theme 'Protection and education of children in crisis situations'. He highlighted the importance of the festival in offering a platform for children to understand and discuss significant themes through their performances, offering insights and potential solutions to contemporary challenges.
