Gaongo: The municipality of Gaongo established the members of the municipal executive office of the School Council on January 26, 2026. This meeting provided an opportunity to reiterate the missions assigned to the members installed for the better functioning of the schools in the municipality. The Gaongo town hall's reception hall hosted the meeting dedicated to establishing the executive committee of the Gaongo Municipal School Council, chaired by Souleymane Diallo, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Youssouf Bassia, head of the Gaongo Basic Education District (CEB), emphasized the importance of this municipal body, which aims to revitalize the functioning of schools. The participants in this body, namely the presidents of the school councils as well as representatives of the different social strata of the municipality, proceeded, by a show of hands, to elect the four members of the municipal executive office.
On this occasion, Mr. Bassia reiterated the mission of the municipal executive office, which is to promote, among other things, locally sourced school canteens, school gardens and fields, student retention, the promotion of national languages, the wearing of traditional clothing, and civic participation in the Gaongo municipality. The Gaongo District Education Officer congratulated the elected members and assured them of the municipality's support for the success of their mission to provide quality education.
The establishment of the municipal executive office marks an important step in strengthening local educational governance. It demonstrates the commitment of the municipal authorities and communities to work together for an inclusive school, rooted in cultural values, for the benefit of the children of the Gaongo municipality.
