Ganzourgou High Commissioner Emphasizes Cultural Heritage at Flag-Raising Ceremony in Zorgho

Zorgho: The provincial directors and heads of services of Ganzourgou took part, this Tuesday, in the traditional solemn raising of the colors, organized at the Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT), under the chairmanship of the high commissioner, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was marked by the execution of the ceremonial by the national police, to the backdrop of the national anthem sung in chorus, with guitar accompaniment provided by the provincial director in charge of secondary education, Barthelemie Boudaone. The provincial director expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and thanked the Zorgho municipal school council for its support in acquiring the flagpole and flag. He noted that the ceremony was taking place during Student Appreciation Week and also marked the start, that same day, of the Junior High School Certificate (BEPC) physical education exams, inviting prayers for the smooth running of the exam session in the province.

Addressing the audience, the High Commissioner commended the mobilization of administrative actors, traditional and religious authorities, and members of the school council. She stated that the ceremony reaffirmed their attachment to national symbols and commitment to serving the nation selflessly. Framing the flag-raising ceremony as part of Cultural Heritage Month, celebrated from April 18 to May 18, she emphasized the importance of revisiting cultural values, promoting sites, and transmitting national history to younger generations. She called for a greater appreciation of cultural heritage, considering it a factor of social cohesion.

The province's top official also presented the manifesto of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP) as well as the collection of speeches by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, covering the period from September 30, 2022, to April 1, 2026. She encouraged participants to familiarize themselves with the content for a better understanding of national orientations. Additionally, she outlined activities planned for Heritage Month, including storytelling sessions with students, a community day, a conference on the RPP, and a road safety awareness campaign with the distribution of helmets.

The High Commissioner concluded by thanking the municipal school council for its support in setting up the color-raising ceremony at the DPESFPT.
