Mbanza Kongo: The fulfillment of the 11 commitments towards children undertaken by the Angolan government are being discussed on Thursday in the city of Mbanza Kongo, province of Zaire, by the Provincial Forum of the Children’s Parliament.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the event is promoted by the National Institute for Children (INAC) and is being attended by 60 children representing the 11 municipalities that make up the province of Zaire. Speaking to the press, the head of the INAC Provincial Service in Zaire, Rafael Kidiwa, said the event is an opportunity for children to debate their most pressing issues, which will then be discussed in specific forums by government authorities.
Rafael Kidiwa emphasized that “children have the right to have their problems addressed, which is why the Children’s Parliament was created.” He also mentioned that at the end of the meeting, a final statement will be produced, which will later be sent to the National Forum in Luanda.
The INAC official appealed to adults to change their attitudes, providing children with everything they need for their harmonious growth. Two children will represent the province of Zaire at the national forum, which will take place from June 24 and 25.
