French-speaking Scrabble World Championship: Burkinabè Ousmane Lengané vice-champion

Burkinabe scrabbler Ousmane Lengané finished vice-world champion in French-speaking individual classic scrabble last Sunday, we learned from the Burkinabe ministry in charge of sports.

On the ministry’s Facebook page, it appears that “at the end of 24 rounds, the Burkinabè Ousmane Lengané first finished 1st out of 74 competitors”.

“However, and according to the rules, the world champion had to be determined between Ousmane Lengané and the Beninese François Xavier Adjovi who came 2nd after 24 rounds. And it is the Beninese who wins the gold medal, followed by Ousmane Lengané silver medal. The bronze medal goes to the Frenchman Quintin Malegol”, we learned.

The French-speaking world scrabble championship which started on July 13 in Bulle, Switzerland, with the participation of 7 Burkinabè scrabble players ended on Sunday July 16.
