NEW YORK - French President Emmanuel Macron, in his address at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, voiced strong support for the establishment of a Palestinian state as part of a broader two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, emphasizing the need for peace and security measures to protect both nations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President Macron outlined a comprehensive plan to end the ongoing violence in Gaza, advocating for the cessation of hostilities, the return of humanitarian groups, and the protection of civilian populations. He called for the deployment of an international mission to facilitate these efforts, a decision he suggested should be made by the UN Security Council.

Macron highlighted the importance of creating a Palestinian state that could coexist peacefully alongside Israel, which would receive necessary security guarantees. The French leader pointed to mutual recognition and security guarantees as crucial elements for a peaceful settlement in the region.

During his speech, Macron also stressed the importance of maintaining connectivity between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to empower the Palestinian Authority and expedite the reconstruction of these territories. He pledged France's commitment to ensuring the realization of a Palestinian state and mentioned ongoing collaboration with international partners to achieve this goal.
