French Firm Meridiam to Build Solar Power Plant in Togo

Ouagadougou - Meridiam, a French group, has secured a contract with the Togo government to construct and manage a solar power plant in Sokodé, central Togo. This 25-year concession involves developing a photovoltaic solar facility expected to generate 64 MWp of renewable energy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the deal was finalized on the sidelines of COP 28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Meridiam, which previously acquired the concession for the Donsin airport project in Burkina Faso, will initiate the solar project in 2024.

The specifics regarding the financial aspects and obligations of the involved parties remain undisclosed. This development signifies a significant step in renewable energy efforts in Togo.
