France and the Sahel can live without each other, said Monday the Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Me Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla, who however warns Paris, regarding respect and non-interference in internal affairs.

‘We have to be truthful, we are not saying that France cannot live without the Sahel. This is not true. Without the Sahel, France can live well. But without France, the Sahel can also live well,’ said Burkina Faso Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla on Monday morning, during the raising of colors at the Prime Minister’s office.

‘We now want no interference in our internal affairs. Let everyone mind their own business and things will get better. Let France mind its own business. Let us also take care of our business,’ added the head of government.

As a reminder, relations between Burkina Faso have not been in good shape since the dismissal of the troops and the French ambassador and the breaking of several agreements by Ouagadougou, which says it aspires to true sovereignty.

‘What
can France give us that we cannot get elsewhere like Russia, China, Brazil, India, Cuba, Venezuela, and sometimes cheaper? », asked Me Apollinaire Kyelem from Tambèla.

For the Burkinabè Prime Minister, freedom of partnership and respect must characterize international relations.

‘We agree to international cooperation with all regimes and all peoples. But let us be respected. That’s all. We do not impose our cooperation on any country. But if a country wants to cooperate with us, let it respect us. This is what we are asking.

And if the French government is not ready for this, it can prepare to leave our territories permanently. It was not us who called her here,’ concluded the head of the Burkinabe government.
