Four suspects are heading to court on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and possession of methamphatamine

Police operations yielded success when unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as drugs were recovered and four suspects subsequently arrested and detained by members of the Anti-Gang Unit and Maitland Flying Squad on Thursday, 11 May 2023 in isolated incidents.

Police members attached to the Anti-Gang Unit conducted an intelligence driven operation in Worcester. They noticed a suspicious vehicle in Altona Circle, stopped the vehicle and search both occupants. They arrested and detained two males aged 46 and 58 for the possession of Methamphetamine and ammunition.

In an unrelated intervention Maitland Flying Squad police members responded to information of unlicensed firearms stored at a premises in Brackenfell. The members proceeded to an address in Avante Crescent, Protea Village. When they arrived at the premises, an unknown male opened the gate. When he saw the police members he rushed back into the house with police members in pursuit. They searched the premises and confiscated two firearms with ammunition and arrested and detained a male aged 42 and a female aged 41 for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Worcester and Blue Downs Magistrate court’s on the mentioned charges.
