Founding President Sam Nujoma of Namibia has been hospitalized as a precautionary measure following an infection, though he is reportedly recovering well. The announcement came via a joint press statement issued on Sunday by his personal physician and senior assistant.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Senior Special Assistant to the Founding President, Nujoma was admitted to the hospital on Thursday. They assured the public that he is receiving care from a skilled and dedicated team, including medical doctors, registered nurses, and specialists. The medical team expressed satisfaction and gratitude for Nujoma’s robust recovery progress.

The statement also relayed a message of unity from Nujoma, urging Namibians to remain united and focused on collective wellbeing, reflecting his longstanding vision for the nation.
