Foub A Triumphs in OSCEP 2026 with 4-1 Penalty Victory Over Site A

Barsalogho: Foub A Public Primary School emerged victorious in the Organization of Sport and Culture in Primary School (OSCEP) of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Barsalogho 2, session 2026, by defeating the Site A school team in a 4-1 penalty shootout. The match ended in a scoreless draw (0-0) at the conclusion of regulation time, leading to the decisive penalties.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Foub A's victory marks a significant achievement as they succeed the Jean-Paul 2 Site school, the champion of the 2025 edition. For their triumph, Foub A school received the champion's trophy, along with an envelope of 40,000 CFA francs, a set of jerseys, and a ball. The runner-up, Site A school, was awarded 30,000 CFA francs, a set of jerseys, and a ball.

In the overall standings, Foub B school claimed third place, earning 15,000 CFA francs, a set of jerseys, and a ball, while Sector 4A school finished fourth, receiving 5,000 CFA francs and a ball. The 2026 edition of the OSCEP of Barsalogho 2, held under the theme "Sport and culture for a more resilient school," featured 12 teams who participated in over ten matches, showcasing fraternity and fair play, as noted by Abdoulaye Sawadogo, head of the Basic Education district of Barsalogho 2.

The ceremony's president, Sansa Mathias Pal, commended the initiative and underscored the values taught to the students. He emphasized the lessons of resilience and teamwork, stating, "On the field, you learned that if you fall, you must get back up. You also learned that you don't lose alone, just as you don't win alone, but as a team."

Before the commencement of the final match, Pal addressed both teams, highlighting that the ultimate victory was in the lessons learned and personal growth achieved. The ceremony began with the national anthem performed in the Moor language and was attended by municipal authorities, departmental heads, military officials from the commune of Barsalogho, and a large contingent of football enthusiasts.
