Baku: Former mayor of the commune of Hound, Yazon Bou, who passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 64, was interred on Monday, July 20, 2026, at his residence in Hound. Attendees included administrative, customary, and religious authorities, as well as relatives and numerous citizens who came to pay their last respects.

According to Burkina Information Agency, friends, former colleagues, and notable figures joined in the farewell, creating an atmosphere marked by solemnity. Many citizens praised Yazon Bou for his dedication to public service and local development throughout his life.

Yazon Bou held a degree in geography from the University of Ouagadougou, obtained in 1987. He supplemented his education with various training courses in leadership, local development, and organizational management. His career began in teaching, and he eventually became the principal of the Tuy provincial high school from 1998 to 2006. Bou was elected as the mayor of Hound in 2006 and led the community until 2014.

Souleymane Dianda, president of the special delegation (PDS) of Hound, paid tribute to Bou, highlighting his commitment to education, decentralization, and local development. Dianda described Bou as a man of dialogue, rigor, and vision, emphasizing his roles as an educator and administrator.

Following his tenure as mayor, Yazon Bou continued his engagement with community development, offering expertise in local governance, water, sanitation, and community projects. From 2017 to 2022, he served as Community Development Supervisor at Hound Gold Operation and played a key role in promoting local culture through the Tianhoun Festival.

In recognition of his national service, Yazon Bou received several honorary distinctions, including being named a Knight of the National Order. He is survived by his wife and four children.
