Luanda: Former Angola Press Agency (ANGOP) journalist ‰lio Gamb´a, who died this week from illness, will be buried on Friday at 10 am at the Santa Ana Cemetery in Luanda.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the funeral program indicates that the wake will begin at 6 pm Thursday at the Luanda Province Funeral Home. ‰lio Orlando Mangueira Olavo Gamb´a was a part of the Angola Press Agency staff since 1975 and witnessed the evolution of ANGOP into a prominent news agency.
During his extensive career, Gamb´a held various positions such as reporter, writer, and sub-editor for the International Desk. He notably served as ANGOP's delegate in London from September 1984 to December 1988. His contributions extended beyond journalism into diplomacy, where he worked as a cultural and press attach© at the Angolan Embassy in Algeria from September 1978 to October 1980, and in Cuba from 1980 to May 1984.
‰lio Gamb´a is survived by three children and three grandchildren.
