Windhoek: First National Bank of Namibia (FNB) has been awarded the title of Top Employer in Namibia and Africa for the second consecutive year by the Top Employers Institute. The bank shared the news in a media statement, emphasizing that the certification reaffirms FNB's commitment to creating a high-performing organization through data-driven people strategies, independent validation, and a clear focus on practices that drive business performance and employee engagement.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the bank stated that as the world of work continues to evolve, FNB Namibia remains focused on reimagining what it means to be a Top Employer. The bank continues to invest in modern and accommodating workspaces, hybrid and flexible working models, employee wellness programs, competitive remuneration, and continuous learning opportunities.
Isdor Angula, Chief Human Capital Officer of FirstRand Namibia, commented on the bank's achievement, noting that the recognition reflects the organization's unwavering commitment to its employees. He added that it demonstrates the consistency and intentionality with which the bank invests in its people. Angula expressed that receiving such a prestigious recognition for the second time is an even greater honor, as it affirms the bank's consistent efforts.
Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FirstRand Namibia, Conrad Dempsey, highlighted the broader impact of investing in people as part of the group's long-term vision for Namibia. The statement further notes that the Top Employers Institute operates in 131 countries and regions and is the global authority in HR certification, benchmarking, and advisory services. The certification is awarded following an independent and rigorous assessment through the Top Employers Institute's HR Best Practices Survey, which covers six key domains, including People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Wellbeing.
