FM Taye Urges Designate Ambassadors to Prioritize National Interest

ADDIS ABABA — Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Taye Atse-silassie urged newly appointed ambassadors to prioritize national interest based on knowledge and skill. Opening training for the ambassadors today, Taye emphasized the responsibility of ensuring the national interest of the country.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, being a diplomat involves taking on a higher responsibility of serving the nation, with the core of diplomatic function devoted to ensuring national sovereignty and interest despite any political difficulties. He urged the designated ambassadors to serve their country with patriotism, honesty, and devotion.



“This year’s appointment is unique as all of them are from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” Taye said.



The opening ceremony was attended by higher officials from the ministry and pertinent institutions. The training will discuss major national, regional, and international issues and run for the next two weeks with interactive discussions.
