Flag-Raising Ceremony in Zorgho: Ganzourgou Leaders Urged to Renew Patriotic Commitment

Zorgho: The High Commissioner of the Ganzourgou province, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, called on Tuesday for the vital forces to renew their commitment to the service of the nation, on the occasion of the solemn raising of the colors at the high commission of Zorgho.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this first flag-raising ceremony of the year "holds particular significance" as it recalls "our attachment to the homeland, its values, and our duty to serve it loyally."

Addressing provincial directors and heads of services, traditional and religious authorities, and constituted bodies, Ms. Sorgho/Gouba expressed her gratitude for the efforts made in 2025. She commended "the sacrifices made and the strong sense of duty" that enabled the continuation of public services despite the difficulties and the security situation.

The High Commissioner called on all stakeholders to maintain their mobilization in order to "continue achieving victories for the well-being of the people," for "the full restoration of the territory's integrity," and "the regaining of sovereignty." She also urged everyone to "renew their commitment to the nation's interests" and to embrace the pride of belonging to Burkina Faso.

Ms. Sorgho/Gouba emphasized the importance of supporting the authorities, noting that backing the High Commissioner is tantamount to supporting the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, whom he represents in the province.

The ceremony, organized by the provincial forestry department, concluded with the announcement of the next meeting, scheduled for the first Tuesday of February 2026. This meeting will mark the launch of Tax Compliance Month, dedicated to the payment of taxes and duties by government employees and the public.
