Flag-Raising Ceremony in Solenzo Marks National Days of Patriotic Commitment

Banwa: The Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the population, directors and heads of service, religious authorities, and traditional leaders participated in unison on Monday, April 7, 2025, in the flag-raising ceremony in Solenzo. This rotating display of colors in the various departments and services, initiated by High Commissioner Sanfi©nal© Joseph Sirima since March 2025, is now in its second phase. This edition coincides with the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, as early as 6:50 a.m., the public began to gather at the site. The atmosphere was good-natured between the FDS and the civilian population as they awaited the arrival of the authorities. At 7:30 a.m., the ceremony was started by a soldier, and the participants sang the national anthem, the dytani¨, in chorus to accompany the raising of the national colors.

At the end of the ceremony, High Commissioner Sirima reminded all participants of the merits of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation. "This ceremony reminds us of our country's values. Order and discipline call on us to respect these values, because nothing can be done in disorder," said the High Commissioner.

He further expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the FDS, noting, "I pay a vibrant tribute to the FDS because the results are very satisfactory, and when we take the commune of Solenzo, all the villages are resettled." According to him, the theme of these National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation does not only concern workers but everyone.

High Commissioner Sirima also urged associations to respect the statutes and internal regulations of their associative structures. "I invite everyone to consume what we produce because a saying goes that it is an intelligent child who pays for his mother's cakes in order to contribute to the development of the family," concluded the leader of the Banwa province.
