First Ordinary Session 2025 of Soum’s Provincial Consultation Framework Held to Tackle Insecurity

Soum province: The meeting room of the Djibo High Commission hosted the first ordinary session of the year 2025 of the Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) of Soum on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. The session was held under the theme: "The impact of insecurity on the functioning of decentralized state services in the province of Soum," bringing together directors and heads of services, commanders of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and representatives of NGOs and associations operating in the province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session was chaired by Mr. Wend-N©r© Wilfried Tougma, the High Commissioner of the province, with assistance from Mr. Losseni Woni, the Secretary General of the province. The primary aim was to devise concrete solutions to maintain public service accessibility for a population heavily affected by insecurity. Discussions focused on analyzing the impact of insecurity on decentralized services, presenting the results of actions by the High Commission, identifying main challenges, and outlining future perspectives. The session also provided a platform to disseminate the High Commissioner's directives for improving state services in the challenging security environment.

Participants shared their field experiences, discussed operational constraints due to the security situation, and proposed measures to enhance the coordination and effectiveness of public services. High Commissioner Tougma, closing the session, praised the commitment of both state and non-state actors and reiterated the provincial authorities' dedication to ensuring basic social services for the resilient populations of Soum.
