First Hotel with 23 Rooms Inaugurated in Cuvango

Cuvango: A high standard hotel and tourist development named Mumba Lodge by Flow, was inaugurated on Sunday in the municipality of Cuvango, Huila province, by the ministers of Tourism, Marcio Daniel, and of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Rodrigues Dias. Mumba Lodge, a privately-owned development and the first in Cuvango, has 23 rooms, including one suite, four superior rooms, and 18 standard rooms.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the unit is bathed by the Cubango River and features a restaurant with an outdoor terrace and barbecue, a lobby bar, another bar by the pool, gym, spa, sauna, among other facilities. A press release from the Ministry of Tourism indicates that the resort is becoming a benchmark and a destination for ecotourism in the south of the country.

The note highlights that its architecture was designed to respect and enhance the Cuvango landscape, positioning it as more than just a tourist option but also as an example of responsible tourism, emphasizing environmental preservation, community appreciation, and promotion of the local ecosystem.

Mumba Lodge offers visitors a safari tourism service, allowing them to immerse themselves in the habitat of species such as wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, rhinoceroses, and hippos. Additionally, it provides hot air balloon rides, hiking trails, artisanal cigar production, and an open-air cinema, among other features.

Mumba Lodge is located on Fazenda Mumba, which covers 90,000 hectares and is spread between the provinces of Hu­la and Cubango, about 300 kilometers from the city of Lubango and 123 from Menongue.
