Addis Ababa: The First Global Public Security Cooperation Forum was held in Addis Ababa today. Present at the forum were notable figures including the Ethiopian Federal Police Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael, Chairman of the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum, Andy Tsang Wai-hung, as well as members of the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation (EAPCCO) and representatives from various African police commissions.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael highlighted that the forum prioritizes collective security, noting Ethiopia’s significant contributions towards fostering continental peace. He pointed out that Ethiopia raised critical issues concerning public safety during its participation in the forum.
Andy Tsang, Chairman of the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum, remarked on the forum’s global efforts to tackle conflicts and their underlying causes. He emphasized the importance of collective security and mentioned ongoing efforts to encourage collaborative initiatives. The forum is committed to achieving lasting peace and development on a global scale by implementing innovative ideas, which also supports public well-being and fosters economic collaboration.
Participants of the forum acknowledged the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum as a valuable opportunity for collaboration in preventing terrorism. They stressed the necessity of cooperative efforts to combat cross-border crimes. It is noteworthy that Ethiopia has been elected as a Board of Director of the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang).
