First Batch of Community Health Promoters Flagged Off

Makueni: The Department of Health Services in Makueni County has marked a significant milestone by flagging off the first cohort of 160 Community Health Promoters (CHPs) following their comprehensive training. This event is part of a larger initiative to train and equip a total of 3,625 CHPs across the county.

According to Kenya News Agency, the Health Services Chief Officer, the remaining 3,465 CHPs will undergo training in phases. The CHPs have been provided with a kit that includes a smartphone installed with digital applications for household mapping and follow-up assessments for diabetes and hypertension. This initiative aims to strengthen the Primary Care Network, linking patients to Level Two and Level Three Health facilities. The flag-off ceremony was conducted by County Executive Committee Member for Health Dr. Paul Musila, alongside Dr. Ndolo, at Green Park in Wote town.
