Firefighter Officers Urged to Earn Public Trust at Graduation Ceremony

Ouagadougou: Lieutenant Colonel G©rard Bambara, Director General of the Higher Institute of Civil Protection Studies, presided over the graduation ceremony for the 13th class of firefighter officers. He emphasized the importance of earning the respect and trust of the communities they will serve.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Lieutenant Colonel G©rard Bambara urged the new officers to continually work towards gaining the respect and trust of the people they serve by committing to their duties with bravery and dedication. He highlighted that the role of a firefighter is not only to protect and rescue but also to be a source of knowledge for the younger generation. This role demands total self-sacrifice, continuous dedication, and constant availability.

Moussa Djibo Aboukar, representing the 13th class, assured that the training received has enhanced their ability to anticipate, which he noted is crucial for any fire chief. He encouraged his fellow graduates to uphold the reputation of the Higher Institute of Civil Protection Studies, acknowledging its prestige.

The 13th class, consisting of 27 firefighters from 12 African nationalities, completed a five-month training program. The Higher Institute of Civil Protection Studies aims to train individuals to lead, plan, and coordinate relief operations effectively. Over its 12-year history, the institute has trained 3,503 individuals.
