Fire Erupts at Russian Embassy in Montevideo, Emergency Crews Respond Swiftly

Montevideo: A fire broke out at the Russian Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital, on Saturday evening, the Telenoche broadcaster reported.



According to Namibia Press Agency, firefighters rushed to the embassy in the Pocitos district after thick smoke was seen coming from the building’s ventilation system, the broadcaster said. Emergency crews reportedly had to use saws and bolt cutters to remove the protective grille from the air duct.



Firefighters then managed to enter the building and opened windows and doors to ventilate the premises, the broadcaster said. No details were provided regarding the cause of the fire or if there were any casualties or damage.
