BANFORA – A significant fire erupted at the SOFITEX factory in Banfora, engaging firefighters and community members in a strenuous effort to quell the flames for nearly three hours, as reported by an Agence d’Information du Burkina (AIB) journalist on site. As of late Tuesday night, approximately four thousand bales of cotton had been consumed by the fire.
According to Burkina Information Agency, efforts were underway to save the remaining bales, with three machines actively relocating them to a safer area. The incident occurred at the Banfora I facility, and the cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
