FIPEG-FASO 2026 to Showcase Young Innovators’ Talents in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou: Open My Eyes for Life Association (OMELA) announced the second edition of the International Fair of Young Geniuses of Faso (FIPEG-FASO) set to take place from April 24 to 26, 2026, at the National Museum of Ouagadougou. The announcement was made during a press conference held on April 7, 2026, highlighting the initiative's focus on fostering innovation and creativity among the youth.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the press conference outlined the objectives, innovations, and challenges of this event dedicated to promoting the creative potential of children and young people in Burkina Faso. Under the theme "Ingenuity of children and young people: a solution-generation at the service of endogenous and sustainable development," FIPEG-FASO 2026 aims to align with national policies encouraging a competent, innovative, and engaged youth.

Emmanuel DORI, President of OMELA, emphasized the strategic importance of the event amid the country's current challenges, noting the potential of nurturing a resilient generation that can create sustainable solutions. He highlighted the initiative's role in repositioning young people as pivotal contributors to development.

The event will be supported by the Minister of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training, Professor Moumouni ZOUNGRANA, and the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Professor Adjima THIOMBIANO. The organizing committee chairperson announced several innovations for this edition, including structured competitions for different age groups, increased rewards, and the digitalization of the registration process.

The organizing committee has called upon educational institutions, training centers, parents, and partners to support the initiative. Online registration for the competitions is open until April 10, 2026.
