Finance Minister Oversees Arrival of Construction Materials at Freetown International Airport

Freetown: Finance Minister Sheku Ahmed Fantamadi Bangura made an oversight visit to Freetown International Airport, inspecting the arrival of essential construction materials for an emerging ultra-modern complex. This development marks a pivotal step in advancing Sierra Leone's national infrastructure agenda.

According to Sierra Leone News Agency, the initiative features a world-class congress centre, luxury hotel, and presidential villas, which are key components of the Government's strategy to elevate global competitiveness and bolster economic infrastructure. During the site tour, Minister Bangura assessed ongoing works, expressing satisfaction with the progress. He lauded FB Group's dedication to maintaining project timelines while reaffirming the Government's support for successful delivery.

Minister Bangura stated, 'President Bio remains deeply focused on closing Sierra Leone's infrastructure gap. Through investments like this, we are positioning our country as a leading destination for international investors and tourists.'

FB Group management confirmed that construction continues around the clock to meet deadlines. The fast-tracked development positions the facility to host the forthcoming ECOWAS Heads of State Summit later this year.

Conceived under President Julius Maada Bio's leadership, the Lungi project aims to establish a premier destination for international conferences and tourism.
