Windhoek: The Electoral Commission of Namibia has announced the final results of the 2025 Regional Council Election for the Tobias Hainyeko Constituency in the Khomas Region. The results indicate a decisive victory for the Swapo Party, with candidate Christopher Likuwa securing 5,416 votes.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) saw their candidate Emrick Kamati Nangolo receive 2,378 votes, placing them in second position. The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) party's candidate, Jeremia Hangula Haipinge, garnered 455 votes.
The Landless People's Movement (LPM) candidate, Brendin Witbooi, secured 364 votes, while independent candidate Abed Fiyeipo Hamutenya received 123 votes. The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) candidate, Ndero Vendjitiza Zamunu Ivan, obtained 117 votes, followed by Namibia Progressive Party (NPP) candidate Elina Ndahafa Jonas with 91 votes. The Body of Christ Party (BCP), represented by Elias Shalimba, received 70 votes.
A total of 9,014 votes were cast in the election, marking the completion of another democratic exercise in the region.
