Fiji: Fiji's Meteorological Service issued a heavy rain warning on Monday for the Northern Division, Yasawa, Lau and Lomaiviti Group, as well as the eastern half of Viti Levu, the largest island of the country.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the National Disaster Risk Management Office urged the public in these areas to exercise caution and prioritize personal safety.
The agency advised residents to stay alert during the current rainy weather, as localized flooding may occur in flood-prone areas, on minor roads, and at low-lying crossings. It emphasized the importance of staying away from and refraining from attempting to cross or swim in flooded rivers, streams, drains, roads, and walkways where water is above knee level.
The office underscored that adhering to these guidelines will ensure personal safety and minimize the risk of life-threatening situations not only for the public but also for first responders.
