Fifteen Injured in Head-On Collision in Oshikoto Region

OSHIKOTO: Fifteen individuals were reportedly injured in a head-on collision involving a minibus, truck, and pick-up at Okapuku village in the Oshikoto Region early Saturday morning. The accident occurred around 00h30, approximately 14 kilometers from Omuthiya. Although the crash resulted in serious injuries to the vehicle occupants, no fatalities were reported.

According to Namibia News Agency, Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) stated that the incident involved a double cab with Oshakati registration that sideswiped a truck registered in Walvis Bay. The minibus, traveling in the same direction as the truck, subsequently collided head-on with the pick-up. Ekandjo noted that the truck and minibus were headed from Omuthiya, while the pick-up was coming from Ondangwa.

All injured individuals were transported to Onandjokwe and Omuthiya District Hospitals for medical treatment. The collision resulted in significant damage to all vehicles involved. Police investigations are o
ngoing to determine the exact circumstances leading to the accident.
