Addis ababa: FIFA President Giovanni Vincenzo Infantino has arrived in Addis Ababa to attend the 46th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which is scheduled to commence on October 22, 2024.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Infantino landed at Bole International Airport this evening where he was warmly welcomed by a host of dignitaries including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Gedion Timothewos, CAF President Patrice Motsepe, and Ethiopian Football Federation President Esayas Jira. Infantino’s participation at the assembly underscores the importance of the event in the football calendar, particularly within the African continent.
The gathering of CAF members, set to begin tomorrow, is pivotal for discussing the future of football in Africa, addressing key issues affecting the sport, and strategizing on the development and promotion of football across the continent.
