Ouagadougou: A delegation from the West Africa regional office of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), led by El Hadj Wack Diop, held a press briefing on Tuesday to discuss the projects of the Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF) during their visit.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the FIFA experts arrived on Saturday to assess the progress of FBF projects supported by the newly formed Burkinabe executive committee. This marks the delegation's second visit in three months, reflecting FIFA's interest and the need for close monitoring of certain projects due to the new FBF team and FIFA's operational guidelines.
El Hadj Wack Diop explained that the mission's objectives include evaluating the progress of ongoing projects such as the electrification of three fields, construction of the FBF headquarters, and renovation of the technical center. FIFA also aims to support the vision of the new FBF president and the commitments outlined in the objective contract governing the use of funds provided by FIFA to the Burkinabe football governing body.
The FIFA representative emphasized the importance of collaboration within the football community, expressing the need for infrastructure that aligns with international standards. The delegation engaged in site visits and interacted with stakeholders to reinforce their commitment to the development of Burkinabe football.
The FIFA team is set to depart Ouagadougou on Wednesday, January 22, yet discussions will persist to ensure a swift commencement of the projects.
