Addis ababa: Lars Nils Mattias Grafström, Secretary-General of FIFA, and Souleiman Waberi, the third Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), landed in Addis Ababa today to participate in the 46th CAF Ordinary General Assembly.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the high-profile officials were greeted upon their arrival at Bole International Airport by several Ethiopian dignitaries including Huria Ali, State Minister of Women and Social Affairs; Esayas Jira, President of the Ethiopian Football Federation; and Melaku Bedada, Director General of Protocol Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The welcoming committee underscores the importance of the event for Ethiopia, which is hosting the assembly for the second time, the first being in 2017.
The 46th CAF Ordinary General Assembly, set to commence on October 22, 2024, is a significant event, bringing together football officials from across Africa and other parts of the world. This assembly not only highlights Ethiopia’s central ro
