FEMIN-IN Movement Encourages Civic Engagement Among Women and Youth in Burkina Faso

Burkina faso: The FEMIN-IN citizen movement organized a public conference on Friday to strengthen the civic engagement of women and young people around the orientations of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) led by Captain Ibrahim Traor©.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference, themed "Women, youth and the RPP Manifesto: appropriating the ideals of the Revolution to rebuild Burkina Faso," aimed to mobilize young people, women, associative actors, and citizens to discuss the values of patriotism, sovereignty, discipline, and community commitment as outlined in the RPP Manifesto.

B©n©dicte Bailou, the executive director of FEMIN-IN, highlighted that this initiative is part of a national effort to politically, economically, and socially renew Burkina Faso, focusing on principles like national sovereignty, social justice, and endogenous development. She emphasized the crucial roles women and young people play in this national transformation, underscoring the importance of understanding the ideological and strategic foundations of the Popular Progressive Revolution.

The conference provided a platform where women and young people could engage in discussions, ask questions, and propose actions to support the ongoing social and economic transformation in Burkina Faso. Aly Tey©ni Mana, one of the speakers, discussed the origins of the RPP and its main principles, emphasizing order, discipline, and patriotic consciousness as central to social transformation. He called on citizens to contribute actively to the development of the country.

Sakinatou Ou©draogo, a participant, praised the initiative as a framework for nurturing patriotic consciousness and civic awareness. She advocated for similar activities to be conducted in more regions and educational establishments, enabling more young people to adopt the ideals of sovereignty, discipline, and community engagement promoted by the Transition authorities.

The organizers concluded the meeting by expressing their hope for the emergence of a dedicated group of young people and women who can propagate the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution within their communities and beyond.
