Luanda: The Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) has announced the postponement of the third, fourth, and fifth rounds of Group A of the Senior Men's National Basketball Championship. The decision to delay these games comes as the national team prepares for the third qualifying round for Afrobasket 2025, scheduled to occur in Tripoli, Libya, from February 21 to 23.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the postponement affects teams with players who are preselected for the national squad. Of the 27 players chosen, 17 are active in the national championship and represent clubs such as Petro de Luanda, 1.º de Agosto, Interclube, and Petro de Luanda B. Group A consists of teams including Petro de Luanda, 1º de Agosto, Interclube, Sporting de Luanda, Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito, and Petro de Luanda B.
The FAB's decision underscores the importance of the national team's preparation for the upcoming international competition, prioritizing their readiness for the Afrobasket 2025 qualifiers. The Federation has yet to announce new dates for the postponed games, leaving the teams and their supporters awaiting further updates.
