Dori: As part of the celebration of the 64th anniversary of the National Armed Forces (FAN) of Burkina Faso, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) offered food to veterans, widows, and war wounded in Dori on Monday, November 4, 2024. Additionally, cleaning equipment was provided to the Military Medical Center (CMM) and the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) of Dori.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the food supplies consisted mainly of 50 kg bags of rice and 5-liter cans of oil. Each ex-combatant received a 50 kg bag of rice, while widows and the wounded received two bags of rice and a 5-liter can of oil. This gesture by the FDS aims to demonstrate solidarity with veterans, the war wounded, and the widows and orphans of fallen comrades, as stated by Lieutenant-Colonel Bapio Kouayé Narcisse Bassinga, the commander of the 4th military region and Dori parade ground.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Sibiri Kaboré expressed gratitude for the FDS’s donation and expressed a hope for the swift return of peace to Burkina Faso.
In addition to the food supplies, the FDS also provided cleaning equipment to the Military Medical Center and the Regional Hospital Center in Dori. The equipment included boxes of soap and bleach, brooms, shovels, gloves, and rakes.
Mr. Stéphane Zagré, the Director General of the CHR of Dori, commended the FDS for their continuous efforts in restoring peace in Burkina Faso. He emphasized the importance of the equipment for maintaining hygiene, which is crucial in patient care.
