FC W´r´li Clinches Victory in Fraternity Tournament with 1-0 Win Over Noumoussoba

Dj´r´: FC W´r´li emerged victorious in the 4th edition of the Fraternity Tournament, edging out Noumoussoba 1-0 in a penalty shootout during the final held on May 1, 2026. The event unfolded in a spirit of camaraderie and fair play.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Fraternity Tournament was initiated on February 6, 2026, featuring 20 teams organized into four groups of five. The competition was themed "United youth and patriotic commitment for peace and socio-economic development of the commune of Djigou¨ra". Over three months, 47 matches took place, showcasing the local youth's enthusiasm for sports and community cohesion.

Promoter Adama Traor©, known as "West", emphasized the tournament's goal of fostering brotherhood within the locality. He expressed satisfaction with the event's success in promoting values of peace, cohesion, and solidarity.

Battalion Commander Konat© Aboubacar, the sponsor, commended the dedication of both organizers and participants, highlighting the tournament as an example of youth unity contributing to peace and community spirit in the Djigouera district.

Echoing this sentiment, Battalion Commander Sougrinooma Basile Zongo, who led the ceremony, urged the continuation of such initiatives. He emphasized the tournament's role in civic education and encouraged the youth to uphold a patriotic spirit for Djigou¨ra's development.

FC W´r´li, the tournament winner, was awarded 85,000 CFA francs, a ball, a set of t-shirts, and a trophy. Noumoussoba, the runner-up, received 75,000 CFA francs, a ball, a set of t-shirts, and a trophy. Teams placed from 3rd to 8th also received a ball and a set of t-shirts. Special awards were presented to referees, the fair play team, the best goalkeeper, and the top scorer.
