A 55-year-old man allegedly stabbed and killed his 17-year-old daughter at Sapirama village in the Kavango West Region on Tuesday.

According to a daily crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force in the region, the murder incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the biological father allegedly stabbed his daughter with a knife twice in the chest while the victim was sleeping in a room.

After allegedly committing the crime, he reported the incident to the police, who then arrested him.

The police said the motive of the incident is yet to be established.

The deceased has been identified as Maria Isoni Simbungu and her next of kin are informed of her death.

Police investigations into the matter continue.
