Kombissiri: The new parish priest of Saint Joseph Artisan de Kombissiri, Father Albert Zoéwendpaoré Ouédraogo, was officially installed in his functions on Sunday, November 17, 2024, in Kombissiri, in the province of Bazèga. The ceremony took place in the presence of many faithful, religious men and women, as well as about twenty priests.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Father Albert Zoéwendpaoré Ouédraogo was appointed on September 1, 2024, by Monsignor Prosper Kontiébo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Ouagadougou. He took office during a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Father Jacques Émilien Sidibé, Vicar General and delegate of Monsignor Prosper Kontiébo.
The installation ritual was marked by the symbolic handing over of the Bible, the church key, and the parish stamp to the new pastor. According to the vicar general, these objects represent the mission of teaching and serving the people of God as a good shepherd.
In accepting his new duties, Father Albert Zoéwendpaoré Ouédraogo took an oat
h, committing himself to administering the ecclesiastical property of the parish with diligence and pastoral concern, in accordance with canon law, the particular norms, and legitimate customs of the Archdiocese of Ouagadougou. He also committed to acting with honesty, loyalty, and impartiality in the exercise of the powers entrusted to him by canon law.
The parishioners, expressing their joy, welcomed their new priest with cheers and songs of thanksgiving. The installation ceremony also brought together several delegations of religious men and women and the faithful from different parishes.
As a reminder, the Saint Joseph Artisan parish of Kombissiri will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026.
