Fatal Train Collision in Sharqiya Province, Egypt Claims Two Lives, Injures Dozens


Sharqiya Province, Egypt—A severe train collision occurred on Saturday in Zagazig City, Sharqiya Province, north of Cairo, resulting in the deaths of at least two individuals and injuries to 29 others. The crash prompted a significant emergency response, with authorities dispatching 39 ambulances to the accident site to assist the victims.



According to Namibia Press Agency, Egypt’s Ministry of Health has confirmed the casualty figures, noting that these are preliminary numbers and that rescue operations continue at the scene. The ministry is actively coordinating the emergency response efforts to manage the aftermath of the collision and provide necessary aid to the injured.



The ongoing rescue efforts in Zagazig City are focused on extracting individuals trapped in the wreckage and assessing the structural damage caused by the collision.
