Fatal Stabbing Incident in Berseba Leads to Arrest

BERSEBA – A 35-year-old man is due to appear in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday following a fatal stabbing incident in Berseba on Saturday. The suspect is accused of killing 31-year-old Ralph Steven Karolus.

Chief Inspector Theodore Kotungondo, acting crime investigations coordinator for the ||Kharas region, informed the Namibia Press Agency (Nampa) on Sunday about the details of the incident. The stabbing occurred in the southern village around 3:14 a.m. on Saturday. It is alleged that the suspect stabbed Karolus once in the chest with a knife during an altercation, leading to his immediate death.

According to Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA), the deceased and the suspect were consuming alcohol together when the victim reportedly started insulting the suspect, triggering the violent response. Following the incident, the murder weapon was recovered, and the remains of the deceased were transported to Keetmanshoop for an autopsy. The police are continuing their investigations into this matter.
