Fatal Stabbing in Keetmanshoop During Domestic Dispute

KEETMANSHOOP — A 63-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Tuesday during a dispute with his girlfriend’s 18-year-old daughter, according to local authorities.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Deputy Commissioner Nikodemus Mbango, the crime investigations coordinator for the ||Kharas Region, reported that the incident occurred in the Ileni residential area around 15:00. Earlier in the day, the deceased had an argument with his girlfriend, who subsequently left to visit neighbors. Later, a confrontation between the man and his girlfriend’s daughter escalated from verbal to physical, culminating in the daughter allegedly stabbing the man in the chest with a knife.

Paramedics who responded to the scene performed CPR on the man, who had entered cardiac arrest, but he was declared dead upon arrival at the Keetmanshoop State Hospital. The police have not yet apprehended the 18-year-old suspect, but the knife believed to have been used in the incident has been recovered. Investigations into the stabbing are ongoing.
