Koudougou: The operational phase of the Faso Mebo Presidential Initiative was launched this Saturday in Koudougou, the capital of the Nando region. Presided over by Governor Adama Jean Yves Bere, the ceremony marked the official start of the urban development and beautification projects in the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was enhanced by the presence of Brigadier General Pingrenoma Zagre, Grand Chancellor of the Burkinabe Orders, as well as the Governor of the Kadiogo region, Abdoulaye Bassinga, who came to support Governor Bere.
One month after the launch ceremony on October 10, the monitoring committee, led by the commander of the 3rd BIA of Koudougou, Captain Ismael Natanael Nombre, presented an encouraging report on contributions: more than 1,000 tons of cement, more than 500 tons of granite, 60 tons of sand, 4,800 paving molds, as well as other essential contributions to start the work.
Governor Bere expressed his satisfaction with the scale of these contributions, seeing it as proof of the strong support of the people for the initiatives and slogans of Comrade President, Captain Ibrahim Traore. He expressed his gratitude and thanks to all contributors for their patriotic acts and made an appeal to the sons and daughters of the region to maintain the ongoing momentum.
The ceremony concluded with the symbolic laying of the first paving stones in front of the Koudougou High Commission, thus officially marking the start of the site paving operations. This second phase of Faso Mebo aims to transform the image of the towns in the Nando region through sanitation, the creation of green spaces, and the laying of paving stones on central medians, public squares, universities, institutes, higher education institutions, monuments, and other emblematic places.
The president of the special municipal delegation of Koudougou, Amedee Pare, welcomed the momentum of the various actors involved in the Faso Mebo cause, which is now consolidating its bases in Koudougou.
