Ouagadougou: The winner of the 2025 Coupe du Faso will be awarded a significantly increased prize of 20 million FCFA, doubling the previous years’ amount of 10 million FCFA. This announcement was made by Julien Tiendr©b©ogo, the executive secretary of the Professional Football League (LFP), during a pre-match press conference for the 38th edition of the competition.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Julien Tiendr©b©ogo shared that the Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF) has decided to double all bonuses for the tournament. The runner-up team will receive 15 million FCFA, an increase from 7.5 million. The third-placed team will earn 10 million FCFA, up from the previous 5 million, and the fourth-placed team will take home 5 million FCFA. Additionally, each of the four teams that reached the quarter-finals will be granted 1 million FCFA, instead of the previous 500,000.
Tiendr©b©ogo explained that the FBF’s initiative aims to enhance the profile of national competitions, while also motivating and rewarding the winners. The final match is set to feature Rahimo FC and Sporting Football Club des Cascades on Sunday, May 8th, at the Issoufou Joseph Conombo Municipal Stadium in Ouagadougou. Representatives from both teams expressed their determination at the pre-match press conference, each aspiring to secure the trophy and the 20 million FCFA prize.
