Forced to drastically reduce rations in most of its operations due to the collapse in international funding for humanitarian aid, the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has issued a stark warning for global food security. He estimates that every 1% reduction in food aid risks pushing more than 400,000 people to the brink of famine. As a result, an additional 24 million people could face famine over the next 12 months, an increase of 50% from the current situation.
