FADA N’GOURMA — In a display of community spirit, residents of Sector No. 1 in Fada N’Gourma gathered on Saturday, August 24, 2024, to enhance the accessibility of their street, which becomes particularly challenging during the rainy season.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative was sparked by the difficulties faced by locals every time it rains, rendering the street near the municipal grove, south C of the Saint-Joseph school, inaccessible. “In the past, it was large trucks that passed on this street. So, we got together among local residents to see how to make this route more practical. This is how this initiative, which brings us together this morning, was born,” Dayamba explained.
Residents armed with shovels, picks, and a tractor, contributed to the efforts, which began early Saturday morning. While some provided tools, others donated funds for fuel, and the youth contributed manpower to the project. The collective effort aimed not only to improve street access but also to promote better sanitation and living conditions in the area.
Dayamba has called on all local residents to engage in these efforts and expressed hope that the municipality would replicate their initiative in other sectors to ensure a pleasant living environment for all community members.
