GOURCY – A concerning incident occurred yesterday in Gourcy, where students consumed expired juice powder sachets found discarded near their school.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Students from the school reported that on Thursday, November 24, 2023, around 3 pm, they discovered a bag filled with these expired products in a gutter at the school’s entrance. By 5 pm, when the school authorities became aware of the situation, the students had already taken all the contents.

Some students, still holding sachets, were seen consuming the powder while leaving class. The principal, upon being informed, gathered the remaining sachets. Despite efforts to retrieve the products, much of it had already been consumed or taken home by the students.

This incident raises concerns about food safety and the well-being of students, highlighting the need for greater awareness and preventive measures against such hazardous situations.
