A school leaner was allegedly on her way to school when she met her ex-boyfriend, who became aggressive and started to assault and rape her on 19 July 2023 at about 07:30 at an unknown address in Nomzamo Park Majwemasweu, Brandfort.

She managed to escape and the incident was reported to Brandfort Police Station. A case of Rape was registered for further investigation. A 23-year-old suspect was arrested on the 20 July 2023 by Detective Sergeant Lebohang Digacoe of Bultfontein Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.

The suspect will appear in Brandfort Magistrate Court on 24 July 2023.
